Slàinte mhath!
Raise your glasses the Scottish way! Pronounced "slanch-a-va", this is a Gaelic term meaning "[to] good health" and is what the Scots might say instead of "Cheers". You might also hear me say "Slàinte mhath, a charaid (Cheers, mate)", or "Slàinte mhath, a chairdean (Cheers, mates)". Join in the fun and do it the Scots manner!

Bring out your inner character
Are you a fan of roleplaying? Roleplay yourself like a D&D character, and bonus points if you could do a Scottish accent! If you can speak Scots or Scottish Gaelic, then we'll hae muckle tae blether aboot!

Beyond Scotland: Straya & Eorzea
Aside from the Scottish theme, the Crannog hides many gems alluding to Australian culture and Eorzean references, mostly in the menu! Ever had a lemon, lime & bitters? Where did magic coffee come from? Who invented chicken tikka masala? Have a read of the menu or ask the bar!

The Crannog's design
The predominantly waterlogged interior of the Crannog draws inspiration from the crannogs of Scotland. In Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, crannogs are artificial islands built on the lochs dating back to the Iron Age. They supported livelihoods of the early peoples of Scotland and other places and gave a sense of community to all crannog-dwellers. The Crannog aims to bring in the warm sense of community and livelihood that all of us in the FFXIV playerbase have known and love!
The Fowks
Get to know the staff and the resident bard band of the Crannog, collectively known here as "the Fowks"!
Valorye MacSiolesean
The owner and bartender of the Crannog. She loves to listen to the stories of her patrons and aims to lift their spirits with "pure bletherins and a wee dram" as she puts it. She will gladly pour you a pint and serve you a Full Scottish, but she will also pick up her bagpipes and play a wee tune or two on the stage. Strike a conversation with her, and you might be surprised by how many languages she could speak!
Rozaleia Rarara
A faerie found in the fae wilds who agreed to be a resident Crannog-dweller because "the flower lights are pink enough for me". Since then she has restyled herself as a seelie and given her best to learn the Scots leid. She constantly shapeshifts between her little form and her even littler form depending on her mood (and definitely not from overdosing on the fantastical drinks). Claims that Valorye overharvested her faerie dust and ruined her ability to fly are wildly unfounded.
Valerie Galatea
Being a Monster Hunter was the sole profession Valerie had, until she befriended Valorye and Rozaleia. Now in the evenings, she tends to the bar and absorbs herself in not only providing solid Scottish hospitality but making sure everyone's mugs, and bellies, are full. She's always down for a short conversation and a good laugh, however, be wary of her puns - it's enough to make even the Twelve groan.
Highland Lassies
The Highland Lassies is a Materia-based FFXIV bard band dedicated to promoting the art of Scottish trad music around Eorzea. Led by Valorye MacSiolesean, the Lassies is the resident band of the Crannog and will perform various tavern jigs and Celtic music when the pub is open. There's a chance you might bump into them when you come to the Crannog!
